United Methodist Women

   The UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;

to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

It’s Tea Time

The annual Friendship Tea honoring women of the church (and their friends, mothers, daughters) will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the church.  Margaret Williams and Jenny Bass are planning a special fun program for the day that possibly will be talked about for years to come. Wear a hat if you like and come out for this special event. For more information call Carol McConnaughey at

601-7427.

Scholarship Applications Sought

The United Methodist Women will soon award two scholarships for students who have a connection to CRUMC. Each is worth $500. Students may use the scholarship to attend college, vocational school, or community college. Applicants should be active in the church youth group or be a member of the church or have parents, grandparents or another relative who is a member of the church.

Applications are available in the church office and should be returned there, along other requested documentation, by June 29.

Women Working for Jesus were great hostesses

The newest UMW circle, comprised of many of our working members, hosted a beautiful breakfast on Saturday, April 14 for the monthly Unit meeting. The date was changed from the regular Tuesday time so that all circles could meet together. The program for the day was on Domestic Violence. Members brought numerous items for the Ocala Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Center.

Successful Sale

Thanks to all who contributed, worked and came to buy at the annual Trash and Treasure Sale

 sponsored by the UMW.  A special thanks to Barbara Vest who chaired the event. The two-day sale brought in a record amount which will be used for UMW projects.
